Jeffrey Field has long served as the home of Penn State’s nationally recognized men’s and women’s soccer programs, providing a premier venue for Nittany Lion soccer competition in the Big Ten Conference. Originally opened in 1972 and named in honor of legendary head coach Bill Jeffrey, the stadium celebrates a rich history of success, reflecting the legacy of a Hall of Fame coach who guided Penn State soccer to ten national collegiate championships during his distinguished tenure.
As a key component of the University’s athletic facilities master plan, Jeffrey Field has undergone a comprehensive renovation designed to elevate both the student-athlete and fan experience. The upgraded complex now features modern home and visitor locker rooms, enhanced training and recovery spaces, expanded strength and conditioning amenities, and dedicated hydrotherapy facilities that support year-round athletic performance.
Fans attending matches will enjoy a variety of new enhancements, including covered chairback seating along the west sideline, expanded concession areas, improved restroom facilities, upgraded stadium lighting, and state-of-the-art video displays. Enhanced media accommodations further position the venue to host high-profile collegiate events. With an increased seating capacity of approximately 4,000 spectators, the revitalized Jeffrey Field is well-equipped to continue hosting NCAA Tournament competition, conference championships, and some of the nation’s premier collegiate soccer matches for years to come.
