Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre Conceptual Design Study

“A Significant Meeting Point for the Asia-Pacific Region

As part of a Public-Private Partnership (P3) Development Team, Crawford provided design and master planning proposals for the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. As part of the P3 submission process, the design and documentation was taken to 100% complete design development level. A Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) was developed based on these documents.

The project involved the development of a 300-room convention centre hotel, 20,000-seat football stadium, 8,500- seat convention centre, banquet hall, 20,000 square meters of exhibition halls and associated facilities. The hotel was master planned to share back-of-house facilities with the renovated arena as part of the development to accommodate 5,000- 10,000 delegate conventions.

The design was awarded a special commendation by the American Institute of Architects. The jury, which included architect brothers Neal and Eddie Jones of the prestigious Design Studio Inc. of Los Angeles, credited the project with “advancing the art of architecture.”
