Zeringue Park Revitalization Conceptual Design Study

“A Memorial Park Revitalization

Crawford Architects is honored to be helping the City of Harahan with the new design of Zeringue Park. Originally dedicated in 1948, Zeringue Park is named after brothers Philip and Felix Zeringue who both gave their lives during World War II. The park is currently in less than ideal condition and has no identifying marker or recognition.

The future park plans call for a unique and powerful way to honor these two brothers, the four young Harahan men who perished during the Vietnam War, and all Gold Star families. Crawford is planning to place two memorials in the park – a water wall that will be dedicated to Philip Zeringue who died at sea, and a winged band pavilion that will represent a fighter jet that is dedicated to Felix Zeringue who was shot down in battle.

In the heart of the city, Zeringue Park will be an iconic landmark and community centerpiece for visitors of all ages, including a water wall, band pavilion, and a play area making the park a popular backdrop for unforgettable moments.
