Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex

Climate-Controlled Training Facility for High-Level Preparation

The Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex provides a state-of-the-art, year-round training environment for North Dakota State University’s fourteen-time national champion football program, while also supporting all outdoor sports programs significantly impacted by North Dakota’s extreme climate. Designed to ensure uninterrupted practice and performance development, the complex features two artificial turf fields, one indoor and one outdoor, offering exceptional flexibility for daily training, recruiting, and team operations.

The indoor facility spans more than 117,000 square feet and includes a full-length 120-yard by 60-yard practice field with a 72-foot peak roof clearance, allowing for all aspects of game-day preparation. The building integrates camera decks on all sides, an elevated recruiting and guest viewing area, a weight room and fueling station, and a retractable netting system to accommodate multiple sports configurations. Seven overhead doors open directly from the indoor facility to the outdoor practice field, creating a seamless transition between training environments.

Both the indoor and outdoor fields are equipped with LED lighting systems, scoreboards, and play clocks, reinforcing the complex’s role as a premier, high-performance athletics asset. Replacing the former temporary bubble structure, the Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex represents a significant investment in permanent infrastructure that strengthens NDSU’s competitive edge, enhances athlete experience, and supports long-term program success.
