Penn State opens up the Jeffrey Field Soccer Complex after years of renovations

Penn State’s Jeffrey Field on-campus soccer stadium is the centerpiece of the Nittany Lions’ soccer facilities. Where both the men’s and women’s soccer teams play their home matches in the BIG10 Conference.

Opened in 1972 and named after legendary Penn State coach Bill Jeffrey, who won the Nittany Lions 26 seasons, winning ten national college championships as well as being a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

The complex was set to undergo major renovations during the first phase of the university’s athletic master plan. These major renovations have come to a reality as the complex now includes new home and visiting locker rooms, upgraded training spaces, strength and conditioning, as well as hydrotherapy areas.

Visitors have new things to look forward to as the complex now has covered chairback seating on the west side, expanded concessions and restrooms. New video boards, improved media facilities and upgraded lighting throughout the complex.

Jeffrey Field regularly hosts NCAA tournament games and even conference championships, and can now hold more fans as the renovated venue will have an estimated seating capacity of about 4,000 fans.
